The emotional content and meaning in yury Pe nushkin’s landscapes are defined by the irrepressible and natural colours that go straight to the heart. The sensation of joy at the approach of spring is born directly from the artist's painting.
Penushkin, Yury Ivanovich (Born 1935, Leningrad)
Painter. Studied at the Leningrad Palace of Pioneers and Schoolchildren (1945), Leningrad Secondary School of Art (1946–1953) and the Ilya Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1953–1962, with interval). Post-graduate student at the Academy of Arts of the USSR (1964– 1967). Contributed to exhibitions (from 1963).
