Annotation

This work was the result of the artist s working trips to Chuvashia, which beganin1959.Thesetrips gave rise to a cycle of canvases about the workers of the Gvardeets collective farm. The appearance of such works reflected the general interest of visual art, literature, theatre and cinema in the subject of the village. Leonid Kabachek''''s portrait is based on handsome combinations of open, decorative tones, lending a sense of festivity to a prosaic subject. Raisa Kuznetsova is depicted with great kindness and sympathy in a canvas that might be termed the "poetry of prose".
