Queen Mary 2

Annotation

There are many things that immediately elicit associations when mentioned. Mentioning of Queen Mary 2 brings about associations with Great Britain.
Queen Mary 2 is the world’s largest, most luxurious and most rapid transatlantic liner owned by Cunard Line British Company. Her appearance alone excites admiration. At the time of putting afloat she was the world’s most expensive liner.
Queen Mary 2 superliner became successor to the largest transatlantic steam vessels of Cunard Line Company – Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria. In order to support this tradition all 14 spacious decks of the new vessel are coloured in white.
The ship was put afloat on January 8, 2004 in Southampton. Her godmother is Elizabeth II, Queen of Great Britain. The floating out ceremony was adorned with MEILLAND’s 3,000 fragrant irreproachably white roses Queen Mary 2 referring to the number of the transatlantic steamship’s passengers.
During the first voyage from Southampton to Fort Lauderdale (Florida) all lounges, restaurants and dance halls of the superliner were decorated with Queen Mary 2 roses.
With this composition we want to bring the festival’s guests to a recollection of the famous ship and to present this wonderful rose.
We invite the festival’s guests to a virtual tour on this famous liner created by imagination of our landscape designers.
Fore and aft rails are adorned with plants characteristic of different harbours where the liner puts into.
Queen Mary 2 rose bushes will produce spindrift and magnificent fragrance around the ship, lawn of Mikhailovsky Garden will epitomize the ocean, while morning mist will be created by water sprays.
Guests will have the chance to stand abaft the wheel of our flower vessel and imagine themselves ship captains! Somebody sitting at a table on deck and drinking a cup of English tea will feel like being a passenger of the splendid ship.
We invite the festival guests to launch out on a voyage of meeting with mysterious White Nights in St. Petersburg – as white as Queen Mary 2 roses.
