With much of her childhood spent in Rome, Jo grew up surrounded by beautiful gardens and structural spaces. To this day, her work reflects this original inspiration of characteristic strong lines of Italian gardens, paired with soft, relaxed planting.
For Jo Thompson Landscape & Garden Design, designing a garden is very much a partnership between designer and client with the aim being always to create inspired and inspirational spaces, which sit beautifully in their location.
Jo Thompson Landscape & Garden Design works extensively across Europe from offices in London, Dorset and Kent. The company has a large portfolio of projects ranging from residential gardens, private developments to public and commercial spaces, parks and art installations.
Jo and her team have also designed several show gardens for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and the Gardening World Cup, winning numerous awards including RHS Gold Medal and Best in Show, as well as Best New Rural Garden. This year (2014) the Society of Garden Designers gave Jo their Future Designers Award.
