Study of British scientists project concept

Natalia Zaozerskaya

Annotation

This composition is meant to illustrate our ideas of how a study occupied by a creative person engaged not only in science work but in art as well can look. We know that many English philosophers, writers, artists were brilliant scientists at the same time (Swift, Newton, Carroll...). Many of them took a great interest in gardening and contributed much to farming standards and the traditions of creating a classic garden.
The garden of a scientist, philosopher, and writer is primarily a place for experiments first of all. They always treated gardening in an informal and artistic way. That’s why we also decided to look at the personality of a scientist through his garden.
A scientist’s workplace is an entire world, his private area, a place where ideas arrive and the most incredible fantasies come true. Side by side with a chemical laboratory there can exist the worlds of “Alice''''''''s Adventures in Wonderland” and “Gulliver’s Travels”.
The space of a study is a metaphor for infinite human thought and the progress of the human mind. We treated this image with pure English humour as there are good grounds to note that jokes about British scientists are much loved in Russia.
